Like a tuna in the brine

En décembre 1969, John et Yoko avaient fait un énorme happening à travers plusieurs pays du monde pour promouvoir encore et toujours la paix au Vietnam.

La campagne "War is Over" consiste en l'affichage sur de grands panneaux publicitaires de ce slogan dans la langue du pays, complété par une mention en plus petite et entre parenthèses "(if you want it)". 

Une chanson reprendra l'idée de la campagne en décembre 1971. Et, joie de votre vie, vous pouvez entendre Yoko chanter aux côtés de John, le tout accompagné par une chorale d'Harlem.

L'ironie de l'histoire étant que loin de vraiment contribuer à l'avancée de l'arrêt de la guerre au Vietnam, la chanson est surtout devenue un standard de Noël. Et que l'année suivant, Nixon envoya une bombe particulièrement meurtrière sur le Vietnam à Noël.
